Kenia has more than 12 years in the tourism sector, specifically in the areas of marketing, planning, product development, market intelligence, tourism policy and development of concession/privatization processes for the cruise industry. She has occupied high management positions at a national as well as an international level. Kenia was the creator of innovating concepts such as the SAVE Project (Scientific, Academic, Volunteer & Educational Tourism) endorsed by the National Geographic and the George Washington University.
She has received international recognitions for her work including the award winning marketing campaign of Honduras given by the ESMA (by its initials in Spanish, Escuela de Alta Gerencia, Universidad de España en Gerona) as “The Best Strategy for Tourism Destinations with Small Budgets”, and the Golden-@ given by Microsoft to the best website of tourism destinations in Central America www.letsgohonduras.com. She has represented Honduras before international organizations and has been spokesperson in important international forums around the world. Kenia has been head of mission for Honduras as well as Central America representative in hundreds of international tourism trade fairs in Europe, the US and Asia. She has conducted training courses to universities, business schools, and private clubs in areas related to sustainable tourism.
At a personal level, Kenia has founded several private organizations and currently holds the position of President and Founder of ZAGO Solutions a company specialized in tourism development and planning. Kenia holds a BA in Economics from UNAH, National Autonomy University of Honduras.
